Municipal District of Loutsi

Loutsi is located northwest of Orchomenus, near the foothills of Mount Chlomo. Close to Loutsi lay the ancient Boeotian city of Hyettus. The area experienced development during the period 1900–1940 when nickel and iron ores were exploited by an Italian company. The residents of Loutsi, along with those from Pyrgos, Martino, Larymna, Kokkino, Mouriki, and Loukissia, share a common origin from the same Arvanite clan, as evidenced by their shared surnames, customs, dialect, and more. Today, Loutsi is the most remote part of the Municipality of Orchomenus, a beautiful community rich in the production of local goods, particularly legumes and honey. The village's
patron saint is Saint Seraphim of Domvou, a Boeotian saint and protector of farmers.
