Pavlos is the largest municipal district in the Municipality of Orchomenus, built amphitheatrically on a hill at an altitude of 300 meters, on the northeastern side of Boeotia. It has a dry and very healthy climate. Pavlos is located 128km from Athens, 22 km from Livadeia, and 14 km from Orchomenus. Its residents are engaged in agriculture, livestock farming, and viticulture. The village features a primary school, kindergarten, folklore museum, municipal library, football field, various shops, charming cafes, bars, taverns, a barbershop, and pharmacies.
Visitors are impressed by the beautiful and large buildings in the village, especially those constructed with the local gray stone, masterfully cut into polygonal shapes by stonemasons from Kozani during the past century. Archaeological findings and studies show that the area has been continuously inhabited since the Stone Age. It was always a satellite settlement of the ancient city of Hyettus. Its name, Pavlos, is Latin in origin and means "small" (Paolo – Pavlos), reflecting its designation during the Latin rule as a smaller village compared to the dominant city of Hyettus. The patron saint of the village is Saint Athanasios.
